Sorry if anyone's already posted this, but this is wonderful. Charlie's a lovely little lad of 7 who took it upon himself to do a 5 mile bike ride in aid of UNICEF's Haiti relief fund. It was originally intended to be a low key thing with him, perhaps a friend and his dad going round South Park near Fulham. He hoped to raise £500 and dad was going to ask for bucket donations on the way round.

I think he surpassed expectations!

I just find this incredible - and a great example of the positive aspects of the internet. I don't think the USA have fully grasped the story yet, though it has started to be reported there more widely. Once they do, I just can't comprehend what the final total might be raised in Charlie's name.

If he never achieves anything of note (to the world at large) again in his life, at the age of 7 ,he's already achieved more than most of us can ever hope to. £102k and rising still.

My guess is that he'll always use this memory to inspire him to more selfless action in the future.
